Missions

Dreambuilders Church Smithton is committed to making Jesus’ last command its first priority.

Matthew 28:19 through Matthew 28:20 (NLT)
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

We are a missional people – a people passionate about playing their part to ensure that people all over the world have an opportunity to hear the good news about Jesus Christ.

Following are some characteristics of a missional church:

1. A church that willingly plays its part in God’s plan of redemption
God the Father’s part in redemption is done.
Jesus’ part in redemption is done.
Our part is yet to be completed in God’s plan for redemption – we are called to get on with the job in the power of the Holy Spirit.

    2. A church that is moved by compassion
Jesus was moved with compassion and we should be too.

        3. A church that doesn’t give up on people
Our God does not give up on people and neither should we.

We are not limiting our mission field to the Circular Head region (though that’s a very important mission field).  We have a passion to impact globally, and we are through partnerships with churches and missions organisations in a number of nations in the world.  Through our annual missions conferences, we’ve been able to raise a significant amount of finance through faith promise giving to assist us in advancing the cause of Christ in the world.

Faith promise giving is an incredible way of exercising faith.  It’s about being a good steward of what God has put in your hand and then adding faith to that.  Hebrews 11 tells us that it was by faith Noah built an ark to save his family from the flood; it was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance; and it was by faith that the people of Israel went right through the Red Sea as though they were on dry ground.  There’s no end to what God can do through us as we exercise faith together.

Dreambuilders Church Smithton is a local church having a global impact.

        Impact Teams

Each year Dreambuilders Church Smithton gives the opportunity for people to be a part of our “Impact Teams” – teams of people who go and for a short time, experience life in another culture and environment in some of the different countries that Dreambuilders Church Smithton is involved in.  These “Impact Team” trips are guaranteed to change lives and give a new perspective on what global mission is all about.
